stone book I

This artists book was produced in an edition of 12. One of each went to each of the national libraries of Scotland, England and Wales as well as the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Following his exhibition in Lincoln Cathedral, a copy was presented to the Cathedral Library.

The book, made with covers carved from Birchover Sandstone and documents through prints, the making of public artwork that Dan Archer made in Birchover Sandstone for a park in Harrogate. The shape of the book and the pages, made in hand made paper, relate to the shapes of stones in structures found in Machu Pichu in Peru.
